AfreecaTV Broadcasting Starter Guide

Mobile Streaming

In order to stream on AfreecaTV you must create and verify your account.

Part 1: How to Live Stream with Mobile Phone (IOS & AOS)

1. First, start the App and login to your account.

2. Once you are logged in please select the Camera icon located at the top right corner to Live stream

 

 

Part 2: Mobile Streaming Set Up

1. Before you start the stream, please change the default settings to fit your style and your Device. 

Let’s start from setting up the title by clicking a pencil icon located at the top left corner.

 

 

2. You have a title to attract viewers, but you want to select a category for your stream.

To change your category, press the gear icon (setting) and you will see an icon with 3 bars(category).

From the category menu, please select Social or Game.

(Please do not select Animation nor Sports, these 2 categories won’t be accessible to global users)

 

 

3. Finally, your stream quality setting.

You can set your streaming quality lower or higher depending on your internet connection.

Please press gear icon (setting) and select the square icon(quality) to change quality from medium to low quality.

 

 

4. Now you can press the bright Red button to start and end the Live stream

PC Streaming 

In order to stream on AfreecaTV you must create and verify your account.

 Part 1: Setting up your account

1. To start your stream please open the AfreecaTV main page on your browser.

2. Once you’re on the main page, please click the “Log In” button located at the top right corner.

 

 

3. After logging in to your account, please click “GO LIVE” button located right next to the search bar

on the AfreecaTV main page.

 

 

4. Now you’re in the Dashboard. From the Dashboard, you can set the title of the stream, hashtag, manager of the chat,

and if you want you can set a password or age restriction for the stream.

(You can find the stream name and Server URL which you need for Part 2 settings)

 

 

5. Please scroll down to General information and please enter the title of the stream

and click select to choose the category of the stream

(Please do not set the category as animation or sports.

If you select sports or animation, your content will not be visible on the global server.

We recommend Social or game for beginners)

 

 

6. Then please double check if the hide stream is unchecked, if the hide stream has a blue checkmark,

your stream will not be visible on the AfreecaTV main page.

(Don’t forget to check age-restricted stream if you are going to smoke or drink alcohol during the stream)

 

 

7. Finally, if you followed steps 5 & 6 don’t forget to click the update button to save your settings.

 

 

Part 2: Streaming Set-Up (OBS)

1. Your AfreecaTV account is ready to go, now you need to prepare stream set up. 

Please download a streaming software from the link below

2. If you successfully downloaded OBS, please start the software

and click the file located at the top left corner and click setting.

 

 

3. When you press setting, a new pop up will show up and you can select “stream”

4. When you click stream you can select various streaming platforms.

Please select custom from the service drop bar

and enter AfreecaTV Server URL : rtmp://rtmp-wsu.afreecatv.com/app/ into the server section.

 

 

5. Once you finish step 4 you will still have the stream key section empty.

Please go back to the dashboard to copy stream name from the “encoder settings”

and paste it on to the stream key section.

(Don’t forget to press Apply after you copy-paste server & stream key to OBS).

 

 

6. You have successfully linked OBS with AfreecaTV, now you want to set up your scenes (Overlays).

Please press “+ “under source” and you will see various options.

Then click each item you wish to add (press video capture to add yourself and depending on your contents add display or games)

 

  

 

7. If you successfully added Video capture and Display capture, please adjust the size and location of the source.

 

 

8. Now you are ready to stream, please press the start streaming button located at the right bottom corner of the OBS.

 

 

 

Part 3: Streaming Set-Up (Xsplit)

1. Your AfreecaTV account is ready to go, now you need to prepare stream set up. 

Please download a streaming software from the link below

2. If you successfully downloaded Xsplit,

please start the software and click the broadcast located at the top left corner and click setting.

3. Once you click broadcast, you can find Custom RTMP from “set up a new output” tab

 

 

4. Please select a name for the setting then copy RTMP URL ( rtmp://rtmp-wsu.afreecatv.com/app/ )

and Stream name from the AfreecaTV dashboard and paste it on to the RTMP and stream name section

(Please change Codec, and Bitrate as x264 and 4000)

 

 

5. Press ok to save the settings

6. You have successfully linked Xsplit with AfreecaTV, now you want to set up your scenes (Overlays).

Please press “Add source” from the bottom left corner and you will see various options.

Then click each item you wish to add.

(press Device to add a camera and depending on your contents add screen capture or game capture)

 

 

7. If you successfully added Webcam and screen capture, please adjust the size and location of the source.

 

 

8. Now you are ready to stream,

please press the Broadcast tab on the top right corner and select the custom RTMP to start and end the stream.

 

Enjoy your Live stream!
