In order to make it easier for international AfreecaTV users,

We have adjusted our policies on exchange remittance with regards to each country.

 

In accordance to taxation laws and to reduce applicable fees,

all monetary exchanges though afreecatv.com will be handled via the local branch according to the broadcaster’s country of residence.

 

The required account information for exchange remittance may differ based on a broadcaster’s actual country of residence. Please select the correct details in your account information for accurate Star Balloon Exchange.

 

• Account Criteria for International Exchange Requests
• Current Policy : Exchange Remittance is processed regardless of Nationality/Residence
• Updated Policy : Remittance is processed from local AfreecaTV branch offices according to country of residence

※ Ex. 1) Korean citizen who has stayed in America for longer than 3 months and their Korean health insurance information has been suspended or revoked must then provide their American bank account information.

※ Ex. 2) Japanese citizen who has been living in Korea for more than 6 months and has obtained health insurance from Korea will need to provide their Korean bank account information

 

• Note on Exchange Requests

· In order to receive a Star Balloon exchange, depending on your country of residence, applicable identification and banking information are needed.

            · According to your country of residence, you will need to correctly provide your bank account information by selecting Korea / USA / Japan / Other applicable countries, as the information required for remittance may be different

· In the case of Star Balloon exchange, income tax and personal withholding tax will be incurred based on national tax law.

 

• Withholding tax rates according to law by country

* When requesting an exchange, you must provide a valid ID for the country of residence in order to verify your identity.* The tax and withholding obligation may differ according to each national tax law. The exchange rate of Star Balloons may be different according to the point of exchange when buying.

* If you have applied for a Korean Wire Transfer, but have provided an international ID instead of a Korean ID, your request will be canceled.

* If you have applied for an international Wire Transfer, but have provided a Korean ID instead of an international ID, your request will be canceled.
